.After washing your hair, and while it is still about 70-80% wet, spray it with a heat protectant, I use a Tresemme one, and comb mousse through your hair to give some hold to your curls. I like the Herbal Essence Set Me Up mousse, with a firm hold.
.Blow-dry your hair with your head upside down to give volume to the roots. When your hair is about 80% dry, stop blow-drying and brush through your hair. Leave your hair slightly damp for this style.
.Heat up a 1-1 « inch curling iron, and section off the top half of your hair. Curl 2 inch sections around the barrel and leave them in for 12-18 seconds, depending on how well your hair curls, and also how thick it is. I leave mine in for 20 seconds because I have thin hair that doesn't hold a curl very well. Conair curling irons heat up nicely, and are fairly inexpensive.
.Make sure to curl the pieces around your face outward from your face, so they frame it, and finish curling the bottom.
.Spray it with a flexible hold hairspray, I like Aussie's Mega Flexible Hold, and let down the top part of your hair. Part it where you want it, a side part just above the arch of your left eyebrow if you want to mimic Demi's look, and pin back your bangs, if you have them.
.Do the same to the top sections as you did to the bottom sections, but only curling from the ear down, except the face framing pieces, which can be curled the whole way, curling outwards.
.Spray it with hairspray and take down your bangs, gently curling the ends under , while keeping the main part straight, and spray those too. Comb out the hairspray in your bangs and you're done.
.If you want, you can scrunch the curls up after hairspraying them to separate them, and make them a little messier, as Demi's are, but this is optional.
